
This policy note identifies priority actions to increase female labor force participation in Tunisia. Despite progress in education and legal rights, women’s participation remains low and uneven across demographic groups with the lowest economic activity among married women, rural residents, and less educated individuals. Structural barriers such as skills mismatches, limited access to finance, wage gaps, mobility constraints, and unequal care responsibilities continue to limit economic opportunities. The note highlights targeted policy recommendations across education, employment, financial inclusion, transport, and childcare, emphasizing the need for strong coordination, monitoring, and data to achieve lasting impact.
