The number of deaths attributed to COVID-19 in Tunisia surpassed 20,000 as of On July 31, 2021, placing the country 30th globally in terms of both total number of deaths as well as deaths in proportion to population. Almost half of these deaths occurred during the past three months, between the end of April and the end of July. The latter month alone was the deadliest since the very beginning of the pandemic, recording about 5,000 deaths.
