
The present study falls within the efforts of Yemen to implement the National Strategy for the Care of Older Persons (2022–2028). It examines the current state of care institutions for older persons in Yemen, which face quality limitations in the provision of certain services. These gaps are largely attributed to the country’s development challenges, and the absence of clear and comprehensive national standards for quality care.
The study analyses the situation and main obstacles confronting these institutions, while also exploring opportunities for their development. Its objective is to identify the priorities of older persons in care homes and to propose practical recommendations for enhancing service quality through qualified personnel, integrated healthcare and an enabling environment.
