The National Strategy for Ageing in Somalia, developed by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs with support from the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), sets out a vision to build a society for all ages that ensures ageing with dignity. The Strategy supports policy coherence, facilitates coordination amongst different stakeholders and ensures an inclusive and comprehensive approach to ageing. It was prepared through a participatory approach involving multiple stakeholders concerned with older persons’ issues.
