Knowledge production
- We research topics related to diverse social protection issues and challenges in the Arab region, paying special attention to vulnerabilities, inequalities, and state responsibility.
- We produce knowledge products, in the form of research papers, policy briefs, and written and audio-visual media reports.
Knowledge dissemination
- We maintain a knowledge directory instigated by the Hub that presents introductions to and summaries of papers, articles, and other knowledge products about social protection in the Arab region produced by a diverse body of credible specialists globally.
- We share a regular email digest with our subscribers that includes summaries of recent and thematic social protection news and research.
- We record and share the online webinars we host in a bid to enhance and expand the sustainable contribution of the knowledge and ideas shared during the events.
Analysis
- We recommend policy reforms to social protection policies and mechanisms based on research and expertise.
Dialogue facilitation
- We convene national and regional dialogues attended by various stakeholders, including the most vulnerable people, to enhance diversity and inclusiveness during discussions and debates about social protection.
- We invite stakeholders from diverse disciplines and levels of decision making to enhance connectedness, interdisciplinarity, and collaboration throughout the reform process.
- We document ideas shared during these public forums and share findings with researchers and policy makers to ensure beneficiary input is valued and considered during decision making processes.
Awareness raising
- We produce and share content for social media to raise public awareness around the need for social protection to boost understanding and support for advocacy.
- We host webinars with social protection specialists that encourage information exchange and invite the public and specialists to query and debate pertinent issues and latest developments.
Advocacy
- We engage with policy and decision makers, sharing knowledge and recommendations, in a bid to spur on reform for sustainable equitable social protection policies.
Collaborative action
- We sustain a community of practice and knowledge, building bridges between academics, civil society, and the media, beneficiaries and decision makers, and all those impacted by and able to influence social protection in the region.
- We instigate local and regional events and activities that bring stakeholders together to exchange knowledge, and conceptualise and create initiatives in support of social protection reform.
