Regional Collaboration Initiative for Social Protection in Crisis Contexts

The Regional Collaboration Initiative for Social Protection in Crisis Contexts (RCI for SP) offers a shared space to strengthen coordination between social protection actors across the Nexus.

It serves as a place for dialogue, exchange and collective action—reinforcing rather than duplicating existing mechanisms—while promoting joint efforts for strengthening and sustaining social protection systems.

The group brings together co-chairs of existing regional coordination platforms with complementary mandates, networks, and technical expertise.

Purpose

01

Strategic Connections

Building coordinated action across regional initiatives through information-sharing, joint analysis and structured donor engagement and dialogue.

02

Regional Agenda

Advancing a regional agenda to strengthen national systems, reduce parallel humanitarian action and coordinate regional and country-level activities via a joint action plan.

03

Country Support

Addressing gaps, unblocking barriers and providing demand-driven support through peer learning, evidence and advocacy, cross-country dialogue and strategic technical support, leveraging existing regional platforms without replacing country-level coordination.
