
Recognizing the critical role of social protection in achieving resilient and equitable societies, this series provides timely insights into policy shifts in the Arab region. The present edition highlights social protection reforms implemented across the region during July and August 2025. Key developments include Algeria extending benefits to students and persons with special needs; Egypt supporting informal workers with cash grants and free medications; Lebanon scaling up aid for war-affected households and fully funding the National Disability Allowance; Morocco integrating health insurance systems and linking scholarships to the Unique Social Registry; and Oman adjusting implementation timelines for social protection provisions. These measures reflect ongoing regional efforts to strengthen the inclusivity, sustainability, and responsiveness of social protection systems.
