
The third issue of the Social Protection Reform Bulletin of the Arab Region provides an overview of recent reforms introduced across the Arab region between November and December 2025 to expand the coverage of social protection systems, strengthen targeting, improve governance and enhance sustainability.
Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt and Morocco expanded coverage and adjusted programme design parameters to increase the effectiveness of social protection schemes. Meanwhile, Iraq and the United Arab Emirates focused on increasing efficiency and sustainability by digitalizing service delivery and enhancing monitoring measures. The State of Palestine restructured the governance of its national cash transfer, while Somalia and Tunisia introduced measures to diversify and expand their financial resources.
