The work of women in the agricultural sector in rural Egypt represents a reality worthy of research and reflection, particularly given the significant scale of this phenomenon. Approximately five million women work in agriculture, representing 31% of the total workforce in the agricultural sector in rural Egypt. The sector itself employs around 16.2 million workers. Despite this significant proportion of women working in agriculture, they still lack many of the most basic rights they should enjoy—an issue that this article attempts to examine.
