A World Bank Group (WBG) team conducted a supervision mission in Baghdad. The mission objectives were (i) to seek feedback on the Implementation Completion and Results (ICR) report for the Strengthening Public Financial Management Oversight and Accountability Institutions Project (P170704); (ii) discuss the closing steps and settlement of payments for the consultants, with the objective to officially close the Modernization of Public Financial Management Systems Project (P151357); (iii) discuss progress of the ongoing as well as planned technical assistance activities financed by the Iraq Reform, Recovery and Reconstruction (I3RF) Technical Assistance (P166640); and (iv) discuss proposal to undertake a Public Expenditure and Financial Accountability (PEFA) to take stock of progress since the 2017 and formulate a comprehensive PFM reform strategy and prioritized action plan.
